SET PUBLISHING DATES!!!+Changes to the Quick Review/Film Review Format (Format Changes)

A chief goal since Film Reviewer Jr.’s beginning has been to release at least one film post per week—and aside from the rare occasion (November 2013 being a good example, where student teaching plus college studies ate up my free time), I’ve kept good to such promise.  Yet while one can (practically) expect a post each week, the release day has varied between the seven available.  I’ve never given release days for readers to follow, frankly because I didn’t want to follow said dates; a whole week to work, finalize, and release a post is less stressful than a set date per week, especially with reality throwing those predictably unpredictable curveballs.  Such vagueness can be potentially frustrating for you the reader, being unaware which day(s) I’ll be publishing (will I publish Monday, or wait till the week’s end?)—as such I’ve created a solution too hopefully satisfy both concerns.

Starting today, there will be a limitation for the days I publish per week—reviews, analyses, lists, ideas and any other posts will only be published on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.  There will be no posts on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays—the only exceptions being to make an emergency post (i.e. an update which readers need to know about immediately) or a planned agenda to release four or more reviews in one week.  The exact time of posting may vary, yet I’ll try and keep it around 9:30pm Eastern Time Zone.  At least one post will be made during the stated three days—which day(s) depends on my flexibility and free time.  If I publish two or three posts during the week, the later releases will get the later days.  If by chance there are no posts for the week (though I will do my best to avoid such absence), then it simply means no free time to write—well either that or I’m hospitalized…or dead (which I guess still falls under the “no free time” section).  Bearing it’s not the latter two explanations, I’ll likely make up the absence with multiple posts during the next week.  Hopefully such change makes it easier to look-see if Film Reviewer Jr. has any new content—speaking of which, new content resumes this Sunday, starting with a rather unique film review.

P.S. I’d like to point out a change made to the Quick Review/Film Review format.  Originally what defined a Quick Review from a Film Review was a word count limitation between 300-600 words.  After careful consideration, I’ve decided to change the Quick Review limitation to between 300-550 words, with any reviews 550 words or more being bracketed as Film Reviews.  As such the Locke and Spy reviews are now classified as Film Reviews.
